There’s enough blame to go around — that’s the conclusion of a jury in a civil lawsuit brought against the University of Dubuque by the estate of a dead student.A Dubuque County district jury finds the University and flight student Adam Varga were equally at fault in a crash that killed Varga. The jury took about a day to decide to award varga’s estate a half-million dollars, but with his part in the crash, reduced it to about 250-thousand. The Jury also ruled that a flight service at the airport that maintained and repaired the Cessna is not liable in the crash. Varga was a junior at University of Dubuque and an instructor in the University’s flight school. He was alone practicing flight skills on December 17, 1998, when the plane lost power. As he tried to land, the aircraft nosed over, crashed and burned.
