Four eastern Iowa men were charged Wednesday with trying to steal anhydrous ammonia from a storage tank in the Linn County town of Alburnett. The men were caught outside New Horizon Ag Service after a Linn County Sheriff’s deputy noticed their parked car. 40-year-old Jack Barger, 43-year-old Walter Canterbury and 44-year-old James Kimpton, all of Cedar Rapids, and 21-year-old Seth Roberts of Coralville, were charged with conspiracy. The chemical is commonly used to make the drug methamphetamine.
