Two young children from Davenport are missing, police are looking for their grandmother and their mother and her friend are in jail. Officers say they and D-H-S officials tried to remove two children from anunfit parent yesterday at a Davenport apartment. As officials were trying to get in, they say 17-year-old Dominque Tolbert threw her children — one-a-half-year old C’Yana, a girl, and two-week-old D’Yana, a boy, out a second story window. They say 19-year-old Rennetta Schafer caught them and handed them to their maternal grandmother, 38-year-old Ruby Davis. Police say Davis then ran with the children to her car and sped away. Police say they don’t know if the children were injured when dropped. Tolbert and Schafer are charged with kidnapping, child endangerment and interference with official acts. Davis was already wanted on a theft warrant and now has been charged with kidnapping. Police issued an Amber alert for the children and believe they may be headed for Springfield, Illinois.
