A Mason City man has pleaded guilty in the case of supplying alcohol to a minor, leading to the death of a local teen. 27-year-old Timothy Charles Cassady pleaded guilty to a serious misdemeanor could be sentenced up to a year in jail and up to a 15-hundred dollar fine. Cassady originally faced a charge of supplying alcohol to a minor resulting in death, a “Class D” felony that could have resulted in five years in jail and a 75-hundred dollar fine. A grand jury indicted Cassady in July of supplying the liquor Everclear to five underage people. 17-year-old John Nauss drowned in the Winnebago River after going camping with his friends on May 18th. Autopsy results showed Nauss had been drinking. Cassady will be sentenced December 2nd.
