After being downed by a last second loss to Southwest Missouri State, Drake turned the tables on Sunday. Lonnie Randolph’s jumper with five second left lifted the Bulldogs to a 75-73 victory over Northern Iowa on Sunday in Des Moines. Randolph’s basket spoiled a huge second half rally by the Panthers in which they made 11 of 20 from three point range to erase a 19-point deficit. Drake forward J.J. Sola led all scorers with 23-points as Drake earned its first Missouri Valley Conference win after opening 0-3. He said they really needed to win the game and says if they play with the same intensity, they’ll do okay the rest of the season.
