Davenport police are looking for a driver who hit and killed a woman about two this morning. Captain David Struckman says witnesses and other drivers told police they saw the vehicle strike the 55-year-old woman who was walking her dog early this morning.After it happened, the Ford Explorer fled the scene and police are still looking for it. Police say the vehicle was speeding and ran a red light at Locust and Harrison in Davenport. Officers were given a description of the suspect vehicle by witnesses to the hit-and-run. He says they have a license plate number and a suspect “in mind,” and just have to locate the vehicle and person. Police say they want to question a 20-year-old Davenport woman. The vehicle they’re looking for is a 1997 green Ford Explorer with license number 234-JWL.
