Stanford set a record in the women’s distance medley relay during Friday’s session of the 94th Drake Relays. Lauren Fleschman ran the anchor leg and said she was overwhelmed by the noise and the cheering of the crowd, and says they fired her up to run.Korine Hinds set a record in the womens’ three-thousand meter steeplechase with a time of ten minutes 16-point-85 seconds, and was happy with her performance.She says it was a little slower than her opener last year, but she’s happy with it.Ankeny’s Andy Brodell won the 100 meter dash and his clocking of 10 point 65 seconds was the second best electronically timed ever in the state. Brodell says he was hoping for a good performance, saying it’s a privaledge to get to run at Drake. Last year he was injured a week before the meet, so he says he’s glad to come back and have success.
