At least three tornadoes touched down in six eastern Iowa counties on Saturday. The tornadoes damaged farm buildings and a few homes but inflicted no serious injuries. A farm near Wapello was demolished and at least six farms near Mount Union were damaged. Another tornado hit Benton County and the third twister struck parts of Henry, Van Buren, Jefferson and Louisa counties. In Lee County, some young men are telling a whopper story of survival after a twister struck Saturday near the town of Argyle. Three teenage boys were moving cars out of a hailstorm and into a barn when they saw a tornado approaching and ran to a two-story wood-frame farmhouse. Two of the boys took cover in a bathtub while the other hid in a stairwell. The twister picked the house up and moved it about 25 feet, dropping it against some trees and ripping off part of the roof. All three boys emerged unhurt.
