An unusual accident in eastern Iowa saw six people nearly asphyxiated after being caught in water. The eastern Iowa family has two turkey hunters to thank for their survival. The hunters 24-year-old Jake Williams of Fairfield, and 24-year-old Greg Hess of Amana were returning form a hunt in rural Johnson County when man approached them. The man’s S-U-V had been stalled on a flooded road north of Oxford. Williams and Hess went with the man to his vehicle where they found his wife and five children unresponsive. Carbon monoxide had apparently seeped inside the vehicle. The men started C-P-R and called for an ambulance. The victims were all taken to the hospital, their condition is not available.
