Tom Davis has found out in one month that scheduling will be a more difficult chore as the coach at Drake than it was during his stint at Iowa. Davis has been putting together next season’s schedule and like all schools in Drake’s situation is finding few takers amongst the nation’s power conferences. He says one coach who is a good friend in a top league refuses to play a home-and-home series with a school that’s not in the top six leagues, which the Missouri Valley is not. Davis admits he probably did the same thing when he was at the University of Iowa. The Bulldogs will start a series with Colorado State next season and as always will have Iowa and Iowa State on the schedule. Davis says they have a respectable schedule, but not the most difficult. He says it’s the best they could do in the time they had to put it together.Davis took the Drake job last month after spending the last four years out of coaching.
