A fad from the 1970’s has returned to the Iowa State University campus in Ames recently. I-S-U Police Captain Gene Deisinger says someone’s been acting like they’re part of the Superbowl halftime show. He says they’ve had three cases since December of a college-age man entering a classroom wearing a trenchcoat and Richard Nixon rubber mask. Deisinger says the man opens the trench coat — exposes himself –utters some comment. The man reportedly yelled out he was “El-nino” after exposing himself to a meteorology class last week. Deisinger says the man’s been content to flash and dash. He says the man hasn’t touched or confronted anyone.Deisinger says a teaching assistant followed the man after one of the incidents and they’re looking into a few leads. He says the man could be punished if caught. The man could face disorderly conduct and indecent exposure charges if criminal charges are warranted– or Deisinger says if it’s a student, he may be turned over to face the student judicial process.
