Parts of western Iowa already have a foot of snow on the ground and the white stuff’s still coming down. Crawford County engineer Paul Assman says his snow-clearing crews have been out since early this morning but they’re finding it tough to make much headway.Assman says travel is hazardous and motorists should not venture out unless they have to. Snow’s falling at a rate of between one and two inches per hour while some areas of the county are already a foot deep in flakes.
