Briar Cliff baseball coach Boyd Pitkin calls it an understatement to say the Chargers got off to a slow start this season. After losing 11 of their first 12 games Briar Cliff has won 13 of 16 and stands 7-1 in the Great Plains Conference heading into tomorrow’s doubleheader at Dordt College. He says they’ve figured out how to win after taking some time to fix things. Pitkin says part of their slow start was due to the competition they faced during a trip to Florida. Pitkin feels the tough early schedule has paid off with the solid start in conference play, as he says there are some quality teams in the conference.
