The Wartburg College baseball team has claimed its eighth consecutive Iowa Conference title but the Knights will need to win the Iowa Conference tournament this week in Cedar Rapids to qualify for the NCAA division three regionals.Wartburg coach Joel Holst whose team finished strong after a slow start in conference play. He says in the middle of the season they were scratching their heads, but the team pulled together and got better, and got a pitcher back from injury. Holst says the season turned around with a doubleheader sweep at Luther. They followed that with two wins over Simpson and went on to win ten in a row.Wartburg will play Cornell in Thursday’s opening round of the Iowa Conference Tournament at Veterans Stadium in Cedar Rapids.
