The other passenger was 18-year-old Amanda Remer of Isle, Minnesota.Sheriff Bohr says the plane hit hard, nose-first, and came to rest on its roof. Both survivors are in critical condition — David Olson was taken to a La Crosse, Wisconsin, hospital while Remer was taken to a hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Bohr says it was mostly sunny at the time of the crash and while one witness thought wind might have played a role in the crash, but Bohr couldn’t attest to that. The plane was a Cessna 172 Skyhawk. Bohr says it’s the first fatal plane crash in the county since the mid-1970s.
