A Decorah couple has given a record donation to the Vesterheim Norwegian/American Museum in their hometown. Bonnie and Dan Heubner have given 500-thousand dollars to support the museum’s education center that’s named for Bonnie’s parents. The Heubners were originally from Minnesota and lived in Connecticut before moving to Decorah when Dan Heubner retired. He had been a vice chair of the Grumman Corportation. Over the years the Heubners have contributed over one million dollars to the Vesterheim Museum. The Vesterheim is the largest museum in the country dedicated to single immigrant group.
