138-to-15…that was the margin of SCMT’ boys basketball’s defeat of North Central of Manly this past Friday night. The Spartans led 48-to-seven after the first quarter, 84-to-11 at halftime, and outscored the Falcons in the second half 54-to-four for the final score of 138-to-15. SCMT had six players in double figures, and 11 guys with at least six points. First-year Spartans coach Jordan Nelson says everything that could go right went right and his team played as hard as they could play. He says he had some guys come off the bench that had struggled in practice, but played extremely well. Nelson feels like SCMT didn’t run up the score on North Central despite their 123-point victory. He says they pressed in the first quarter and then dropped back into a man-to-man defense after that and played very well. They will try to maintain their 138-point average this Tuesday night when they visit Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock.
