Searchers pulled the body of a western Iowa man from a waterway near Glenwood Monday. The last time anyone saw Derik Bolton, they were at a party. The 19-year-old had been taking part in a drinking game according to witnesses at a bachelor party that was held in a rural area along Pony Creek the night of Saturday, April 2. He threw up, passed out on the ground, said partygoers…and nobody knew anything after that. As the week passed, his family said they didn’t expect to find him alive but asked for help in recovering their son and even offered a reward. On Saturday more than 60 people showed up for another round of searching, with food provided by area businesses showing support for the volunteers. It was early Monday afternoon when the Glenwood Fire and Rescue team pulled a body matching the description of Derik Bolton from the water of Pony Creek Lake, and sent it to the medical examiner in Des Moines for an autopsy.
