Marshalltown police called to an apartment near downtown last night found a woman’s body there. Assistant Chief D.P. Templeton says they were called about 5:30 P.M. to the apartment, where the woman lived alone. Templeton says the local medical examiner came along with the police and decided there should be an autopsy. It was done, and with the results this morning they decided they’re dealing with a homicide. Templeton says they’er not naming any suspects at this point in the investigation. He does say they’re looking for a “person of interest” police would like to talk to. Other than that, police won’t say much yet about the case, though they’ve identified the woman as 41-year-old Laurie Ann Reyes of Marshalltown. “Early on, you don’t want to give out too much, because you jeopardize your investigation while you’re followin’ leads,” Assistant Chief Templeton said.
