A strike has been avoided at a major north-central Iowa factory — at least for now. Members of Webster City’s U-A-W #442 at the Electrolux Home Products Company are back at work, but without a new contract. The tentative agreement between the company was turned down Saturday. The old contract’s been extended on a day-by-day basis. Electrolux employs 19-hundred-50 hourly workers in Webster City, making washers and driers for a several name brands.
