Second ranked Texas outscored the Iowa Hawkeyes 29-12 to finish the game as the Longhorns rallied for a 68-59 win in the championship game of the Guardian’s Classic in Kansas City.

Adam Haluska led the Hawkeyes with 23-points including 15 in the opening half as Iowa built a seven point lead at the break. Haluska says they knew they were going to battle in the second half and fought hard for the rebounds. He says they are the number two team, so they have to come out with their heads high and be ready for the tough schedule ahead. Haluska says the Hawks lost momentum when Texas went to a zone defense in the second half. He says they didn’t attack the zone very well, but he says you can’t fault the team’s intensity.

The Hawkeyes are off until Saturday when they open a four-game homestand against Texas-San Antonio.
