A body found in Illinois has now been linked to a disappearance in the Quad Cities. Davenport police say a coroner in Illinois has declared a body found there is that of 37-year-old Charles Lee Nixon, who disappeared last Friday from his blood-spattered apartment. Two acquaintances who went missing at the same time were picked up this week near RIchmond, Virginia, driving Nixon’s car, which police also say had traces of blood in it. William Smith and Steven Dietz both waived extradition and will be brought back to Iowa. The body found near Mount Vernon Illinois was badly burned, and while dental records were used to identify it, DNA tests continue.
