The U.N.I. Panthers may already have an NCAA Tournament spot but Monday night’s loss won’t help when it comes time to seed it. UNI lost at Evansville 55-54, just the second Missouri Valley Conference victory for the Aces against 15 losses. The Panthers shot a chilly 33 percent, including only 5-of-23 from three point range.

Coach Ben Jacobson says they thought they had some quality looks at the basket against their man-to-man defense, but didn’t get them to fall. Jacobson says the Panthers also hurt their own cause with 15 turnovers. He says it didn’t feel like they were turnovers that were forced. Jacobson says they will have to review their offense and see if they need to make some adjustments.

U.N.I. falls to 24-4 overall.
