The State high school softball tournament opened in Fort Dodge anmd class 1A top rated Akron-Westfield advanced with an 11-4 win over number eight Lynnville-Sully. Akron-Westfield opened the game with a six-run first inning and scored two more in the second and led 9-0 after two and half innings.
Lynnville-Sully fought back with run in the bottom of the third and a two run home run, but couldn’t get all the way back and lost to the top rate team.
