Frontier Airlines is suspending its Denver/Sioux City passenger service later this fall.

The airline has notified officials at the Sioux Gateway Airport that a “seasonal shut down” of flights to Denver will take effect October 24. Service to Denver won’t resume until sometime in 2015, meaning holiday travelers won’t be able to make connections out of Sioux City through Denver, nor will the service be available during much of the ski season.

Frontier is “reallocating aircraft” for its 4th quarter schedule, so several other markets will be affected by the changes. According to passenger data, 90 percent of available seats were sold on recent Frontier flights out of Sioux City.

Passengers with reservations on Frontier flights out of Sioux City after that October 24th date should contact the airline directly at 1-800-432-1359 to make changes.
