Drug Czar likes new job

Iowa’s new drug czar is settling in to his job, after about 10 days. BruceUpchurch was appointed by Governor Vilsack to head up the state’s war onillegal drugs, and Upchurch says methamphetamine is the “crisis drug”that’ll get priority treatment.Upchurch is a Mason City native & a University of Northern Iowa grad. HisDrug Enforcement Agency –D-E-A– experience includes serving as residentagent in charge of the Des Moines office.Upchurch’s appointment HAS been approved by the state senate. Vilsack saysUpchurch understands the importance of joining Iowa law enforcement andcommunities to take meth out of the schools & off the streets.
