Regents approve tuition increase

The state board of regents has approved an increase in the cost of room andboard at the three state universities. University of Northern Iowa studentssee the biggest increase at eight-percent. Iowa State University room andboard is increasing six-point-three percent and the University of Iowa’sgoes up five percent. I-S-U student body president Matt Craft says studentsaren’t as concerned about the increase this year because they knew it wascoming.He says they can see the renovations underway, which makes it easier toaccept the increase.The Regents met Wednesday at the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving school inVinton. They continue their meeting today at the University of NorthernIowa.
