Hockey ticket drive in Cedar Rapids starts strong

Officials with the new United States Hockey League franchise in Cedar Rapidshave been pleased with the first week of a season ticket drive. The CedarRapids Roughriders will begin play this fall after moving from Mason Cityand Director of ticket operations Blake Porter says ticket sales have gonewell.Porter says they were not completely surprised by the interest as they’vehad people calling the last few months.Porter says they are selling a limited amount of merchandise right now butas of yet don’t have jerseys to sell.Porter believes Cedar Rapids will become a good hockey town.Ground breaking for a new arena in Cedar Rapids will take place this month.
