The U.S. House has approved an amendment which would allow statelegislatures to order the Ten Commandments posted in schools. Iowa HouseSpeaker Brent Siegrist, a republican from Council Bluffs, hasn’t given theidea any thought. Seigrist, a former teacher, says he personally wouldn’thave any problem with the posting of the Ten Commandments. He says it couldbecome and issue.And Siegrist says it may be a moot issue as the proposal may be challengedin court or even rejected by the U.S. Senate. The Supreme Court has ruledbefore that the Ten Commandments cannot be posted in public schools.
