Feds investigate carnival ride after Creston accident

Federal officials have ordered the manufacturer of a carnival ride toinvestigate its design after a weekend carnival accident in Creston hurt achild. A six-year-old boy was injured when the molding between a fiberglass seatand a metal shaft broke. The “Mind Bender” ride is less than a month oldand had passed inspections by Iowa and Nebraska authorities. The “MindBender” was taken out of service after the accident.
