Iowa Games open in Ames

Some 15-thousand athletes will be in Ames this weekend for the Iowa Games.Opening ceremonies for the games are tonight and Executive Director JimHallihan says the only thing they’re short of are volunteers.Hallihan says the number of volunteers has dropped off from the games’ earlyyears.Hallihan says running the Iowa Games has become a year-round operation.The opening ceremonies are tonight at 8 o’clock at Jack Trice stadium.FormerGreen Bay Packers defensive great Reggie White will speak at the openingceremonies. The ceremonies are open to the public and free.
