Flood recovery efforts underway in North Iowa

Up to ten inches of rain fell in portions of northcentral Iowa on Sundaynight and Monday morning, flooding homes, businesses and threatening citywater and sewer systems. Jerry Ostendorf of the State Emergency ManagementDivision visited the town of Manly on Monday afternoon.Ostendorf says there was alot of “minor basement flooding” in Manly.About one-hundred Manly residents were evacuated from their homes. Ostendorfhopes to organize local meetings for flood victims.Governor Vilsack on Monday afternoon declared Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Mitchelland Worth Counties disaster areas.
