Self printed stamps now available

August 10, 1999 By admin

Iowans who have a home computer, a printer and access to the internet will”virtually” never again have to go to the post office. The U-S PostalService has teamed up with two private companies to launch “P-C Postage,”which is explained by Rich Watkins, a postal service spokesman for Iowa. The service enables customers to buy & print their own stamps. While it ispossible just to buy a single stamp over the internet now, Watkins saysthat’s likely not the best way to go.A small fee or a percentage of the stamp cost will be charged. Watkins sayse-stamp payments can be made by credit or debit card or through directdeductions from a checking account. For info, go to www.usps.gov
