Blood center says need increasing for donations

Blood centers are issuing a call for more donations this week as the LaborDay Holiday approaches. Jackie Cacciatore of the Blood Center of CentralIowa says there are a greater number of car accidents, boat accidents andmishaps in the home during the holiday.Cacciatore says this is a difficult week to get blood donations.The Labor Day holiday is the 4th deadliest weekend of the year on Iowa roads.The Blood Center of Central Iowa provides blood to 26 hospitals in 22 Iowacounties.
