Sioux City bakery sold

November 16, 1999 By admin

The “Metz” bakery in Sioux City has been sold to “Earthgrains” for six-hundred-25 million dollars. “Earthgrains” will be the nation’s largest baked goods producer if the sale gets federal approval. Metz bakes the “Old Home,” “Sunbeam,” “Healthy Choice” and “Roman Meal” brands. Three hundred people are employed at the bakery operation in Sioux City and Earthgrains officials say no changes are in store for those workers.
