D-O-T website offers travel information

December 14, 1999 By admin

With snow in the forecast and holidays around the corner, traffic is picking up on Iowa’s roads — and on the Iowa D-O-T website. Spokesman Jerry Dickensen says people who visit that site can learn about travel troubles before they leave home from the Highway Patrol road report webpage.Dickensen says the website is loaded with important winter driving tips as “refreshers” — since it’s been a while since most of us have driven in snowy, icy weather.Dickensen says something new is coming to the site within a few days that should prove to be very popular. He says atmospheric and road conditions from sensors located in roads will be put on the web.The site is at: www.dot.state.ia.us
