Grassley says meth report is good and bad

January 11, 2000 By admin

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley sees good and bad news in a report that finds more Iowans making methamphetamine — and more of them getting caught. A report says 130 meth labs were found by law enforcement officers statewide in 1998, compared to 450 labs found last year.Grassley says the rise in meth busts is partly due to the help of concerned members of the general public who are reporting suspected meth labs. The number of arrests on meth charges in Des Moines alone more than doubled in the past two years.
