Creston police chief Bill Heatherington says there were problems between a Creston couple prior to a stabbing Sunday that left one of them dead.35-year-old Barry Chubick is charged with killing his 45-year-old girlfriend Jane Ruby and injuring Ruby’s 23-year-old daughter, Dana.He says neighbors had heard the couple calling each other names and making abusive threats.Heatherington says none of the other incidents were reported to police. He says this case shows why it’s important to report domestic abuse. He says police don’t always make an arrest when a complaint is filed. He says they can refer people to the right place to get help. Heatherington says police can’t do anything about the abuse if it’s not reported.Chubick was moved from Wapelo County, were he was arrested, back to Union County today. Chubick is charged with first degree murder and willful injury.
