Officer injured in shooting

An Omaha policeman remains in critical but stable condition after being shot three times Wednesday during an attempted bank robbery. Officer Jeff Holland was off-duty and working as a bank guard. The 38-year old Holland was able to capture one of the suspects and Police Chief Don Carey calls him a hero.The second suspect in the robbery fled the scene and was involved in a high-speed chase on Interstate 29 that traveled through Iowa and ended up in Missouri. Missouri Highway Patrol Corporal Sheldon Lyons says a trucker help them locate the man. Corporal Sheldon says the chase topped out at speeds of over 100 miles-an-hour. He says the suspect, 32-year old Bradley Simmons, was carrying a loaded weapon in his car.Officials say officer Holland is expected to recover from his wounds.
