More abduction attempts have Davenport police on alert

March 23, 2000 By admin

Quad City police — and residents — are on higher alert after two more child abduction attempts. There’ve been six recent attempts by a man in a black pickup truck to lure young girls into his vehicle. One attempt was made earlier in the week in Davenport and two more attempts were made yesterday in East Moline & Rock Island, Illinois. Three other attempts since December are all believed to be the work of the same man. East Moline police officer Joe DeCap says kids everywhere should heed their advice to watch out for strangers.
