Morningside baseball team ready for key road trip

The Morningside College baseball team will take a six-game winning streak into a North Central Conference road trip to Augustana and South Dakota State this weekend. Mustang coach Jim Scholten says improved defense on the infield has helped them turn it around.The North Central Conference has been known as one of the toughest division two leagues in the country and Scholten says baseball is no different.Scholten says the goal is to qualify for the four-team conference tournament, as the winner can win a spot in the NCAA’s.Scholten says pitching depth is always a key in a balanced conference race.
