Boswell proposes computer filter tax credit

Iowa Congressman Leonard Boswell is introducing a bill he says will help parents keep Internet porn away from kids. The “Internet Child Safety Tax Credit” would give parents a tax credit for buying software that blocks Internet porn from home computers. Boswell admits there is already free filter software available. But he says that software doesn’t always work and this bill would spur software companies to make better filters.He says the tax credit create a bigger market for the software.Boswell is a democrat from Davis City.
