Two juveniles are charged with causing more than 100-thousand dollars damage to dozens of tombstones last week at a northeastern Iowa cemetery. Manchester police say an 11-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, both from Manchester, are charged with first-degree criminal mischief. Police Chief Bruce Trapp says 83 tombstones were overturned, some dating back 100 years. He says some of the stones can’t be repaired, and the damage was very upsetting to the community. The vandalism at Oakland Cemetery was inflicted August 8th. Trapp says more arrests may be made as the probe continues as the two who were arrested have been cooperating with them. The two juveniles are also charged with burglary for a break-in at a Delaware County Fair food stand — and theft for allegedly stealing letters off the Fairground marquis.
