Coe coach catches milestone

Coe College softball coach Bob Timmons reached a milestone over the weekend. Timmon’s earned his 500th career coaching victory during a tournament in St. Louis. He is in his fifth season at Coe and prior to that spent 12-season as the head coach at Mount Mercy College.Timmons says the milestone is nice but he has enjoyed seeing the Coe program improve in recent years. He says he’s had some great players and assistant coaches along with two institutions that allowed him to recruit good student athletes needed to be competitive. After back-to-back 30-plus win seasons the Kohawks are off to a 15-3 start this season and hope to challenge for the Iowa Conference title and a trip to the national tournament.
