Voters in northeast Iowa’s M-F-L Mar-Mac school district have narrowly approved a tax hike for various school projects. The vote Tuesday passed by 475-to-413. The levy is expected to generate 800-thousand dollars over ten years to pay for a new fine arts edition at the Monona Center with the existing band and chorus area being rebuilt into a special needs classroom and elementary library, along with other needed improvements and repairs at the McGregor Center.
