September 6, 2002 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes are on the road to play Miami of Ohio from the Mid-American Conference. Iowa opened with a blowout victory over Akron, but coach Kirk Ferentz says the Hawks face a more difficult challenge this week. He says Miami convincingly won their game at North Carolina and noone is under any false illusions it’ll be easy. This will mark the first time the Redhawks have hosted a Big Ten opponent and Ferentz expects an emotional atmosphere.Iowa has struggled on the road in recent years and Ferentz says a big factor has been turnovers and special teams breakdowns.Ferentz says to move into contention the Hawks must start winning on the road.
