Council Bluffs man charged with murder

September 26, 2002 By admin

A Council Bluffs man has been arrested for a slaying across the river in Nebraska. Police in Omaha say they picked up 37-year-old Lonnie Bissell last night in the death of a woman found stabbed at her Omaha apartment Wednesday morning. Marilyn Ladd died later. The 36-year-old woman had asked in 1999 for a protection order against Bissell, telling police then he’d been abusing her for more than a year and had threatened to kill their baby daughter. In the arrest warrant, Bissell’s charged with second-degree murder and a weapons count.
