Drake readies for league opener on a roll

The Drake Bulldogs take a three-game winning streak into their Pioneer Football League opener at home against Valparaiso. Drake finished a difficult pre-conference slate three-and-two and coach Rob Ash says the real season starts this week.Ash is confident the tough competition will pay off as he says it has worked to toughen up the team.Drake offense has been explosive in the past few weeks and Ash says senior wideout Aaron Overton is a major reason. Overton already has eight touchdowns this season.
