Fayette man faces gun charges

November 14, 2002 By admin

A Fayette man faces several charges for allegedly stealing guns from an Oelwein pawn shop. Twenty-year-old Christopher Becker was arrested yesterday and charged in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids with theft of firearms, unlawful possession of stolen firearms and conspiracy to commit firearms violations. The indictment alleges Becker and two others broke into an Oelwein pawn shop on July 27th and took two rifles and a revolver. They also allegedly stole several other items from the pawn shop and took them to Becker’s home in Fayette. Becker was released pending his trial in January.
