Iowans who put their visions and ideas into films will get a chance to show off some of their work in a few months at the 2003 Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival. Spokesman Eric Freese says the entry deadline is the end of this month. Freese says this is a key year for the festival.This is the third year after a low-key first year and then a more large-scale second year. Awards will be presented for Official Selection, Outstanding Feature Film, Short Film, Documentary, Freestyle, and Student, as well as a special Audience Choice award.He says they typically get feature length films, short films and documentaries. He says the competition is open to any independent film producer.He says they get film professionals to high school students who enter. Freese says it’s easy to enter your film.
